Chuck Bednarik Redefines Bitterness

As a young boy, I could not read enough about football. One player I admired from a distance was Chuck Bednarik, who played for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1949 to 1962, the year of my birth. Although he played before my time, I saw the photos and the old films, and I admired the fact that he played tough on both offense and defense. Now he is a bitter old man.
