Are Entrepreneurs Overconfident In Their Abilities?

Business Week Online has an excellent Q & A with Brian Wu, a Wharton doctoral student whose paper, entitled Entrepreneurial Risk and Market Entry, received the annual Best Doctoral Paper award from the Small Business Administration's Office of Advocacy this month. In his paper Brian Wu challenges the belief that entrepreneurs are less risk adverse than the average person is. He believes that entrepreneur overconfidence in their own abilities is the reason for their risk taking. The article is an interesting read.
